-Do you see children and adults? Yes, we treat infants, children, and adults. Our services are geared towards different symptoms and complexities that may occur at any age. -What does a first visit look like?We will ask for your medical history and medical insurance information. We will interview you about your airway health, explore your history of symptoms, and perform a comprehensive head and neck exam. Photos and a low dose CT scan may be taken (we will ask you to take jewelry or piercings off). If you haven't had a recent sleep study, we may send you home with a sleep test to do in the comfort of your own home. Typically, we gather all of the information and test results and have you back within a week or so to go over treatment options and investments of time and money.Babies with tongue-tie or lip-tie are typically seen the same day of treatment to accomodate moms and dads. Since we are a dental office, Dr. Sheahan will be looking at teeth too! If dental issues are present or if you don't have a dentist that you see regularly, we can schedule you with one of our amazing dentists for complete dental care.
-Will I need a referral? You don't need a referral to come see us! We frequently get referrals from health care professionals in the community but it is not necessary to have a referral. Sometimes we may refer you to other like-minded health care professionals to get the most out of your unique treatment. Airway treatment is very individualized and may take some time to achieve optimal results. -What insurance plans do you accept?Breathing and Functional Dentistry is not a provider of dental insurance, however we are happy to help you file a medical claim.
