What services do you provide?
We provide a wide range of treatments for symptoms including sleep apnea / upper airway resistance syndrome, snoring or mouth breathing, bedwetting or getting up at night to urinate, poor head posture, bruxism / clenching or grinding of the jaws, ear pain / ringing in the ears, ADD / ADHD, hyperactivity, improper tongue swallow / tongue thrust, inflammatory conditions, TMJ pain or other facial pain, ankyloglossia / tongue-tie, headaches, and sinus issues / allergies. For more specific information, visit our Services page or contact our office.
Do you see children and adults?
Yes, we treat infants, children, and adults. Our services are geared towards different symptoms and complexities that may occur at any age.
What does a first visit look like?
We will ask for your medical history and medical insurance information. We will interview you about your airway health, explore your history of symptoms, and perform a comprehensive head and neck exam. Photos and a low-dose CT scan may be taken. If you haven't had a recent sleep study, we may send you home with a sleep test.

Babies with tongue-tie or lip-tie are typically seen the same day as treatment to accommodate moms and dads. Since we are a dental office, Dr. Sheahan will also be looking at your teeth. If dental issues are present or if you don't have a regular dentist, we can schedule you with one of our dentists for complete dental care.
Will I need a referral?
You don't need a referral to come see us! We frequently receive referrals from healthcare professionals in the community, but it is not necessary. Sometimes we may refer you to other like-minded healthcare professionals to get the most out of your unique treatment.
What insurance plans do you accept?
Breathing and Functional Dentistry is not a provider of dental insurance; however, we are happy to help you file a medical claim. CareCredit financing and flexible payment plans are also available.
